Founder & Optometrist
Dr. Julie Chang was born in S. Korea and immigrated to the United States when she was 11 years old. She grew up in Aurora, Colorado and attended University of Colorado, where she majored in Biology. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree at New England College of Optometry located in Boston, Massachusetts. She continued her optometry education and completed a residency program with emphasis in geriatrics at the West Lost Angeles VA Medical Center. Dr. Chang founded Optikos Optometry in 2001 and has been serving the local communities ever since.
Dr. Julie lives in Valencia, CA with her husband and 2 beautiful daughters. She is an avid Denver Broncos fan and in her free time, she enjoys traveling in her RV with family and friends.
One of Dr. Joanne Myung's biggest passion is working with children. After receiving her OD degree from SUNY optometry school, she received extra training to become a Fellow of COVD (College of Optometrists in Vision Development). This fellowship allowed her to become more knowledgeable and competent in developmental vision in children as well as binocular vision in children and in adults. It is imperative for children to have a comprehensive eye exam before starting school to ensure their eyes are ready to learn.
Dr. Joanne lives in Los Angeles with her husband, and two beautiful children. When she isn't busy running around with her kids, she enjoys cooking, playing tennis and taking a nice stroll at the beach.
Dr. Jaime Chan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Riverside, and a Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. Her knowledge in primary optometry and ocular disease is contributed to her extensive training at the Veterans Affairs in Lebanon in Pennsylvania and the Glaucoma clinic at Illinois Eye Institute. She is certified in treating and managing eye conditions such as pink eye, cornea conditions, and glaucoma.
Dr. Chan has participated in volunteer organizations like SVOSH, where she has provided eye exams to underserved communities in Mexico.
When she’s not busy, you can find Dr. Chan indulging in her love for food by exploring new restaurants and savoring the culinary delights of different cultures. .
Dr. Dianna Kattengell (Dr. K) is a therapeutic optometrist with more than 15 years of industry experience. She earned her doctor of optometry (OD) degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and her B.A. from Texas Christian University.Specializing in primary eye care for patients of all ages, Dr. K is trained in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases, dry eye therapy, fitting specialty contact lenses, and preoperative and postoperative care. In the office, you’ll find that Dr. K delivers the highest level of care possible to her patients, ensuring they receive the attention, education, and support they need to make informed decisions about their ocular health.When she isn’t behind the phoropter, you can find her spending time outdoors and hiking with her Australian cattle dog, Layla. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Dr. K is fluent in English and Spanish.
